Top 10 Reasons to Upgrade to InputAccel and Dispatcher 6.0

The InputAccel 6 and Dispatcher 6 releases, which were announced earlier this year, delivers several key advancements that make the product more intuitive to use, and easier to develop, manage, and deploy. These latest releases are available to customers who are current with their support and maintenance agreement, but some of the key InputAccel advancements are being offered as optional add-on features that existing customers may wish to explore as ways to leverage their existing document capture systems.

These include:

New reporting capabilities-
InputAccel 6 offers a new reporting module (for purchase) that is seamlessly integrated with the InputAccel Administration Console. When InputAccel Reports is purchased, customers get a set of 10 standard reports plus the ability to create custom reports that report on key metrics – performance, batch statuses, operator/recognition metrics, and more.

New development tools – client side scripting and Web Services framework-
If you have any new capture projects planned for 2009 or 2010 that require customization, you will want to consider InputAccel 6 given the new development tools (client side scripting and Web Services). These tools accelerate the customization of processes and easily integrate with other enterprise applications. Furthermore, these new development tools leverage standard .NET programming languages that customers have been asking for.

InputAccel now integrates with hundreds of multi-function peripheral devices (MFPs) using the new eCopy Connector-
The new InputAccel Connector to eCopy provides a direct connection between the InputAccel Server and hundreds of MFP devices

New Scan and Index clients provide much more flexibility and control over the UI-
New Scan and Index clients are available in version 6. The interfaces provide a nice UI that is made up of several panels that can be moved around or even hidden.
Other enhancements include custom keyboard mappings.

Tighter security controls over what users can/cannot do-
User roles control specifically what modules a user can or cannot access and what permissions they have.

OCR engine that ships with InputAccel has been updated and ultimately delivers better results for customers-
One of the key recognition engines has been updated in InputAccel 6. Testing has shown that recognition is more accurate and faster for zonal OCR.

Easier to find batches and review problem batches-
New Administration Console includes advance search for locating a batch. Also, a new batch status (On Hold) moves problem batches into an Admin Review queue making it much easier for administrators to manage the system.

Index families provides easier process development-
An index family represents a group of index fields and zones to capture data from a specific form or document. A single IndexPlus module step can use multiple index families, avoiding the need to maintain separate processes for different index field layouts.
A common challenge in 5.x was you had to use multiple instances of the index module every time the index fields were different.

Enhanced high availability and failover-
InputAccel ScaleServer includes several new enhancements including sharing page count across servers. InputAccel now supports Active/Active clustering providing an additional failover option

New licensing gives customers much more flexibility-
Most unattended client modules no longer have a connection limit. Furthermore, modules like MDW and Email Import are included with the server.
